NGC 7635 (Bubble Nebula, LBN 548, Sh 2-162) - bright emission nebula in Cassiopeia Discovered by William Herschel in 1787. NGC 7635 is located about 11000 light years away and is known as The Bubble Nebula. The image reveals an expanding shell of glowing gas surrounding a hot, massive star in our Milky Way Galaxy cataloged as BD+602522. The strong stellar winds of material and radiation is produced by the bright star at the left into the bubble . This star is 10 to 20 times more massive than our Sun and several hundred thousand times more luminous. A fierce stellar wind and intense radiation from that star has blasted out the structure of glowing gas against denser material in a surrounding molecular cloud. North is up.
